LONDON TATTOO CONVENTION

*** The London Tattoo Convention presents LTC LIVE! 22nd & 23rd September @ Tobacco Dock E1W 2SF***

An incredible schedule of vital modern hard rock 'n' roll acts and DJ's has been lined up by The London International Tattoo Convention in a dynamic new music area located in the stunning grade II listed vaults of Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, E1W 2SF, over the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd.

Cutting edge Modern rockers Mallory Knox, 'the vital voice of the modern rock generation', whose hard-hitting, melodically euphoric, outspoken and open-hearted third album 'Wired' crashed into the UK Top 20 national album chart at 18 on release in March 2017, are set to headline on Friday September 22nd.

After Mallory Knox's independently released first album 'Signals' hit number 33 in the UK national album chart in January 2013, a major record company bidding war broke out, resulting in them signing to Epic. Then, as well as touring to 'insane' crowds and playing with Biffy Clyro and Don Bronco, the band landed the prized opening main stage slot in front of a 40,000 strong crowd. Following the release of their semi-autobiographical second album, 'Asymmetry', which breached the UK Top 20 album chart in 2014, Mallory tore up Europe and America for 18 months, playing to 5,000 people every night on tour with Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens, then 'stole' the Vans Warped Tour in 2015.The band are "Looking forward to playing the London Tattoo Convention this year and getting to see the work of so many talented tattoo artists all in one place". malloryknox.com.

Support on Friday comes in the form of British trio Fort Hope, who blend pop hooks, rock riffs and post-rock inspired atmospherics to create emotive, anthemic, heavy and graceful tunes. After Fort Hope, who formed in 2013, were nominated as 'Best British Newcomer' at the Kerrang! Awards in 2015, and their indie single 'Plans' was featured as Radio 1's 'Track of the Day' the same year, they signed to Virgin / EMI, who released the band's debut album 'The Flood Flowers Vol. 1' in June 2017 to huge acclaim. The group declare that "we really can't wait, tattoos and music go hand in hand for us. If it wasn't for music we definitely wouldn't have had the inspiration for our tattoos; we're excited to see all the art on display, hope everyone's ready for us."

October Drift complete Friday's line-up with their 'beefy yet melodic' sound; the group, who only formed in 2015, have gained a reputation for delivering blistering, high-energy live shows, a statement cemented by a string of sold-out headline shows across the UK. October Drift have also graced the stages of Glastonbury's John Peel Stage, The Great Escape Festival, BBC6 Music Festival, Dot To Dot, Tramlines and Camden Rocks. They note that "We're delighted to have been invited to play the International Tattoo Convention for a few good reasons. Our lead singer Kiwi lost a bet a couple of months ago backstage at Glastonbury Festival where the loser of the bet had to get a big rock tattoo so what better timing than to bring our big (and very loud) live show to the stage and show everyone what we do live, and then get Kiran the tattoo he still owes us." www.octoberdrift.co.uk.

DJ Mike Rock will be blasting a set of heavy metal, classic rock and party tunes for the crowds to dance the night away to on Friday; his motto being 'Drink, dance, break everything and worship Lemmy!' expect a mad night... facebook.com/mikerockofficial.

London-based heavy metal heroes Orange Goblin, 'The UK's reigning champions of balls-out, party-starting, booze fueled metal', are set to head the line-up on Saturday September 23rd.

"We are thrilled to be returning to headline the London Tattoo Convention again in 2017. It is a great event run by great people and after having our set cut short last year due to circumstances beyond our control, we feel we have unfinished business to take care of this year and look forward to another top weekend full of beers, riffs and tattoos!" states front man Ben Ward. Inspired by the gods of hard rock, heavy metal, punk rock and underground extremity, Orange Goblin have forged an admirable reputation as 'one of the very best live bands of all time' since their inception 22 years ago. Since the release of their 'neck-wringing and sonically monstrous' definitive eighth album, 'Back From The Abyss', the band have been busy bringing their explosive live set to fans around the world at huge shows such as Download, Wacken Open Air and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards (for which they were nominated UK's Best Band in 2017). www.orange-goblin.com.

Grove Street Families, who are currently taking the underground hardcore scene by storm, will support on Saturday. With a unique blend of Thrash influenced hardcore and an aura of 90's hip hop, GSF bring the reminiscent days of golden hardcore to the modern metal world. Whether its playing sweaty hardcore club shows or major festival stages, GSF's undeniably fun and raucous live show has gained them a loyal fanbase of both 'old school' and newer fans. GSF rave that "Its so sick to be asked to be a part of something so big, and be surrounded by some of the best artists in the world. Stoked to be able to add some GSF flava to the mix!" www.facebook.com/grovestreetfamilies1992.

New British rock act Big Spring are set to open the show with a sound comprised of 'beastly, chugging riffs, brooding lyrics and soaring vocals' (The Independent). Radio 1 Rock Show's Daniel P Carter dubbed them 'Best New Band In The Country and gave them a slot on The Pit stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals last year. With their seismic riffs and tearaway attitudes, it's easy to see why so many have fallen under their spell. The band reveal that "We're well excited to be playing the London Tattoo Convention this year! It's our first time attending let alone playing so we're pumped to riff out and all get full body tattoo suits". www.facebook.com/bigspringmusic.

Kerrang! TV & Radio's Alex Baker, 'The premier voice for breaking new artists in the UK alternative scene', famous for breaking new bands on his famous 'Fresh Blood' show on Kerrang! Radio, will be the masterminding DJ on Saturday. He states that "I can't wait to get behind the decks at this year's convention – the line-up of artists and bands this year is insane and I'm just looking forward to shutting the place DOWN on Saturday night!" www.alexbakerman.com.

The LTC LIVE space will include a large bar area, offering visitors the opportunity to drink, dance and party the night away after an exciting day viewing all the breathtaking entertainers, beautiful tattooed pin-up models, and inspirational art exhibitions which have been lined up by the Tattoo Life Magazine organizers.

Advance tickets for the supreme, most esteemed, exciting and enthralling celebration of body art in the world, priced at £25 for Friday, £35 for Saturday, £30 for Sunday or £55 for a weekend pass, are available to purchase via www.alexbakerman.com. LONDON TATTOO CONVENTION

*** Incendiary Rock & Metal Acts Set to Star @ The 12th International London Tattoo Convention September 23/24/25 ***

Orange Goblin, Raging Speedhorn, The Broken Chords, Willie & The Bandits, King Kurt and Urban Voodoo Machine have all been confirmed to perform live at the 12th London Tattoo Convention, taking place over the weekend of September 23/24/25th at Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, London E1W 2SF.

Having already announced over 400 of the world's finest, most prestigious and elite tattoo artists as attending the most exciting, anticipated, spectacular and resoundingly successful celebration of body art in the world, the Tattoo Life organisers have upped the rock and metal music ante even higher than ever.

Orange Goblin, who have created "a unique, heavy sound that lies somewhere between doom, stoner, classic metal, 70's inspired heavy-rock, punk, blues and everything in between" since forming in 1995, will play the headline slot on Saturday night, 24th September. The band's eighth album, 'Back From The Abyss', which breached the Top 100 UK national album chart on release in October 2014, "Is the sound of Orange Goblin firing on all cylinders!" roars frontman Ben Ward, continuing "From the Sabbathian, weighty-groove of 'Sabbath Hex', the Motörhead-styled punk snarl of 'The Devil's Whip', the epic, Maiden-esque gallop of 'Mythical Knives', through to the apocalyptic Doom of 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth'; this is the best of all of our individual influences pulled together. We have created the definitive Orange Goblin album. Following the great, worldwide reception of 'A Eulogy For The Damned' and the subsequent 2 years of touring everywhere, we knew we had a lot to live up to. But we were prepared and entered the studio armed with an arsenal of killer riffs! They are all present on this album, continuing the Orange Goblin trend of never being afraid to move forward or trying something new. We worked with Jamie Dodd again as he did such a great job on the last record and I think he has even gone one better this time around! Adding Jamie's amazing production to the outstanding performances and songwriting of the band, we have made an album we are all very proud of. Our last album gave the band new life and sent us off into the unknown. This new album sees Orange Goblin stretch ing the limits once more… 'Back From The Abyss' and ready to rock all over again!! www.orange-goblin.com.

Raging Speedhorn, who fuse sludge metal, hardcore, and stoner elements to devastating effect at their explosive live shows, are set to headline the main stage on Friday night, September 23rd. Raging Speedhorn, who formed in 1998, soon won over a huge live following with their pounding basslines, heavily distorted riff-thick guitar work and songs about hedonism, drug-use, violence, antipathy for major band labels and depression. After releasing various chart bothering singles and four crushing, intense albums, touring continuously with the likes of Slipknot, Ill Nino, Rammstein and Will Haven, plus performing at countless festivals across the globe, (including Download festival on 3 occasions), the band imploded in 2008 at the end of a Japanese tour. Raging Speedhorn regrouped to play at the Sonisphere Festival in July 2014, and then an eleven date UK tour later that year. Having worked on new material throughout 2015, the band entered the studio to record their brand new album 'Lost Ritual' with producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, The Wildhearts) in January 2016. Guitarist Jim Palmer notes that "This album seems like a true reflection of everyone's input, a slice of all of us, if you will. It has those typical Speedhorn, pumping rock 'n' roll moments, and some much darker ones too. Sound-wise, it's got all the feedback, distortion, bad attitude and in-your-face antics you'd expect with a sound that should be more familiar to Speedhorn fans, but with a twist." Metal Hammer awarded the album 8/10 in their August 2016 issue, stating that "The bruisers have lost none of their intensity and 'Lost Ritual' picks up exactly where they left off. Opening with the tooth rattlingly heavy 'Bring Out Your Dead', business really picks up on 'Halfway To Hell', which mixes together Maiden guitar harmonies and the meanness of Wade McNeil-era Gallows. 'Evil Or Mental' has a huge hook you could hang the moon off, while 'Motörhead', their most traditional track to date, is a fitting tribute. 'Lost Ritual' feels like a triumph and dual vocalists Frank and John are in the form of their lives. Welcome back, boys." www.reverbnation.com/ragingspeedhorn.

Broken Chords, a British hard rock trio from Essex/Herts serving up classic riffy sounds that reference Led Zep and Cream while sitting firmly in the 21st century UK rock camp, will also perform on the main stage of the Convention. Melodic axe riffs, seasoned, dramatic vocals and relentless exuberance has propelled Broken Chords, who formed in 2013, from their local music scene to headline shows across the UK and a year of national touring, including academy supports for the legendary Bernie Torme (Gillan, Ozzy Osbourne), Kyshera, Temperance Movement and Australian rockers Electric Mary (O2 Academy). Headline appearances at Hard Rock Hell Helloween and Hard Rock Hell Ibiza, two shows at The Great Escape, Camden Rocks Festival, and a full electric slot at Download Festival 2015 ensued. The band's debut single, 'Get Some' was greatly welcomed across the media and airwaves on release in 2014, receiving regular airplay on BBC Radio, Amazing Radio, Shoreditch Radio, Classic Rock and myriad internet rock sites. The blazing Paul Tipler produced 'Rock & Stone EP', released in April 2015, signalled a new progression for the band, a more mature sound with a harder edge. Anthemic title track 'Rock & Stone' rightfully made the Classic Rock Magazine on-line videos of the week. 2016's new self-titled 'Broken Chords' EP showcases a natural progression in sound and song writing. Opening track, 'I Do Believe' is a dark blues fuelled kickback to the sound of the 70's, while stadium worthy, 'Tell Them Of Us' highly defines what Broken Chords are really about. The lowdown, dirty licks of 'Wild Child' with its underground grit, really hits you with the essence of true rock & roll. 'First & Only Kind' is just effortlessly classic through and through. www.brokenchordsmusic.com.

Wille and the Bandits, a classic blues rock three piece in the vein of Cream or The Jimi Hendrix Experience, absolutely bursting at the seams with textures, originality and soul, have also been confirmed to star on the main stage. The band's use of more bizarre instrumentation and eclectic influences in their song writing takes their sound way beyond what is expected of such a traditional line up. Throughout a performance the band can be seen playing a range of instruments, sometimes simultaneously, sometimes switching between various guitars, basses and percussion within the same song. Wille's exquisite slide guitar playing and powerful vocals are given perfect momentum with Andy's innovative drumming, while virtuoso Matt, with his 6 string bass and double bass, adds a class and polish rarely seen in a Rock act. Their great musicianship with infectious songs has inspired praise from Rock legends such as Ian Paice, Joe Bonamassa and Francis Rossi, leading to their debut single reaching number 2 in the UK blues chart on downloads alone. The group were listed in the top ten must see bands at Glastonbury 2014 by BBC Radio 1, and were personally invited to perform on the German TV show Rockpalast; a musical institution of global import. www.willeandthebandits.com.

King Kurt – the absolutely bonkers psychobilly prankster rockers who stormed the UK singles charts in the early-mid 1980's with hits like 'Destination Zululand', 'Mac The Knife' and 'Banana Banana' are set to headline the Voodoo Crypt stage. King Kurt built up a massive, frenzied following at their riotous gigs, famously strewn with all sorts of muck - thrown both at and from the audience - whilst also offering haircuts and drinking competitions! Musically a bizarre mix of roots rock-a-billy, funk, African rhythms and pop infused with their own unique humour, King Kurt, who released two full length albums ('Ooh Wallah Wallah' on Stiff Records in 1983 and 'Big Cock' on Polydor in 1986), are at their blistering, mystifying, absolute best, live on stage; definitely a set not to be missed! www.kingkurt.com.

Urban Voodoo Machine – Part Gogol Bordello and part demented cabaret, this London collective, which marries a whole cavalcade of genres, including mariachi, gypsy punk and sideshow rock 'n' roll, have also been confirmed to play on the Voodoo Crypt Stage. Led by Norwegian born Paul-Ronney Angel, Urban Voodoo Machine feature between 7 to 12 musicians playing guitars, drums, fiddle, trumpet, banjo, washboard, upright bass, gong, mandolin, accordion, harmonicas, saxophone, tuba, sousaphone and even empty bottles & tie racks to build their unique brand of bourbon soaked 'Gypsy Blues Bop 'n' Stroll'. With their lurching sea shanties, debauched murder ballads, messed-up tangos and whiskey-soaked gypsy stomps, some reckon they're from the same stable of stallions as Tom Waits and Nick Cave; others point out the last gang in town swagger of The Clash and the hellbound blues that John Lee Hooker first dragged out of the swamp. Major festival appearances under their belt include Glastonbury, Download, Latitude, Edinburgh, Sziget, Hard Rock Calling alongside Paul McCartney, Bestival, Bulldog Bash and Ukraine Stadium alongside Goran Bregovic, plus they have performed everywhere from prisons, schools and churches! www.theurbanvoodoomachine.com.

A whole feast of alternative attractions and numerous diverse distractions will also be vying for attendees' attention, not least the FIRST EVER 2000AD ART EXHIBITION, featuring original artworks from the finest illustrators of the UK's oldest and most iconic comic, will be on display, and attendees will be able to purchase numerous prints, books and other 2000AD merchandise at the convention. The full list of famous artists and illustrators who are set to be present at the exhibition, meeting fans and signing their unique prints, can be accessed here.

Numerous other unforgettable collaborations of the arts are set to excite the eyes, including inspirational exhibitions from Joe Fenton (www.joefentonart.com, Chris Guest (www.chrisguest.co.uk), Graham Humphries (www.grahamhumphreys.com), Christopher Lovell (www.christopherlovell.com), Haris Nukem (www.harisnukem.com and Jim Philips' The Art Of God Machine (www.godmachinedesigns.blogspot.co.uk.

The Fuel Girls, the electrifying, original and best fire-breathing tattooed acrobatic dance troupe in the world (http://fuelgirls.co.uk), will return to star as the resident performers on the 'Fuel Stage', which will also boast the debut appearance of the dynamic new Circus Of Men troupe (www.circusofmen.com) and much more.

Also new for this year is the 'Pyrohex' stage, hosted by the London based high octane pyro-fire-aerial performance group Pyrohex, who were such a hit at 2015's tumultuous convention that they've now got their very own podium. Watch jaws drop as the sensational Cervena Fox, Shelly D inferno, Rebecca Crow and Sununu Hernandez amaze with their latest group act with fire (www.facebook.com/wearepyrohex).

The Main 'Tattoo Life' Stage will host new Tattoo Competitions for Saturday and Sunday, with a brand new catwalk allowing the public and press to fully appreciate and capture the tattoo competition entrants' high caliber skin – inked artworks; for full details and timings click here.

The Fuel Girls - the original and best fire breathing, tattooed acrobatic dance troupe in the world return to star as the resident performers on the main stage with a brand new show, specially designed for the London Tattoo Convention. Their shows have developed over the years and the Fuel Girls have grown from young, rebellious party girls, into skilled, dynamic and incredibly talented performers. This unstoppable dangerous, wild and playful mayhem machine will take to the air in hoops and on silks, breathe fire balls into the sky, dance with swords of fire, woo you with their tribal belly dancing and amaze you with their acrobatic pole skills.

Elegy Ellem, the sexy model and top Burlesque performer with an hourglass figure, will fly in once again from her native Sweden for the whole weekend to star on the main stage. Elegy Ellem, who varies her extraordinary performances from cute pin-up style with a twist to pure erotic fetish acts, is creating a whole new show especially for this year's LTC. You never know what to expect when this sexy, seductive creature steps on stage; she loves to experiment with styles and always brings something unique.

Cervena Fox, the sensational international alt/fetish model and burlesque performer, known for her trademark fiery red hair and friendly yet professional personality, will unveil a brand new stage show, featuring a Queen of the Damned inspired strip-tease, infused with gore and aggression, along with fantastic Merchandise for 2015.

New and Exclusive to The London Tattoo Convention this year are the phenomenal fire performance group 'Pyrohex', who use Aerial hoop, grind & pyrotechnics. Make sure for the first time ever you witness Shelly D inferno, Rebecca Crow, Sununu Hernandez and Cervena Fox perform their latest group acts with fire on the Fuel Stage.

The Voodoo Crypt Stage will once again feature compere / host Vince Ray, (also an artist renowned for his unique record covers, T-shirts and tattoo designs) and his band The Bone Shakers, who will play multiple sets all over the weekend. The Boneshakers, a classic rockabilly/punk trio with guitar, double bass and drums, who sound "Like Eddie Cochran colliding with Motorhead", are an unmissable, truly organic rock beast, whose songs are the sonic equivalent of Vince's artwork—all about foxy femme fatales, hell-bent hot rods and ghoulish grave-robbing greasers. Vince has shared bills with artists such as The Meteors, Demented Are Go, The Kings Of Nuthin' and The Damned. He has toured Europe extensively with the likes of The Stray Cats and the Reverend Horton Heat and recorded two albums with The Boneshakers, whose live appearances are a visual feast, with hand painted instruments, giant backdrops and tattoos everywhere.

Geno Washington an undisputed Master of Soul, will be headlining the Voodoo Stage on Friday September 25th. Geno has released thirteen studio albums since 1966 and has performed alongside James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Bo Diddley and The Everly Brothers, to name but a few. His status as the undisputed "King of Soul" was cemented forever by Kevin Rowland and Dexy's Midnight Runners in the 1980's with the World-wide No.1 smash hit single "Geno", which paid homage to the great man himself and is still played regularly today on national radio and at Geno's live gigs both before and after shows. He is back on tour with The Ram Jam Band aged 70, rocking crowds harder than ever.

Alabama 3 Acoustic and Unplugged a four-piece outfit consisting of Larry Love (vocals), Aurora Dawn (vocals), Harpo Strangelove (harmonica), and Rock Freebase (guitar) will be headlining the Voodoo Stage on Saturday night, bringing a whole new dimension to the songs made famous by Alabama 3. By performing in this stripped down acoustic way the band's aim is to show the songs in a format reminiscent of the people that have been their inspiration, chiefly the old Delta Blues players like Fred MacDowell and Bukka White. This isn't acid house music; this is country/gospel/delta blues, but played with a rhythm you've still got to dance to.

Carousel Vertigo a vital, dual lead guitar-driven hard rock band, who combine the most thrilling elements of 70s rock bands like Humble Pie, Cheap Trick, Grand Funk Railroad, Free, early Aerosmith and Bon Scott-era AC/DC, and rework these influences to create their own stunning, classy and original rock n' roll songs, will star on the Voodoo stage on Friday.

Solo acoustic 'Blues Grass' musician Big Joe Bone (A.K.A. Danny Wilson), is set to enthrall with his mix of fast, furious Delta Blues, Bluegrass, Oldtime, Gospel and Hillbilly music with raspy vocals, hard driving harmonica rhythms, bottleneck slide guitar playing on steel bodied guitars and finger-picked 5 string banjos.....all held together by a very heavy stomping boot! As well as playing songs from great Roots musicians like Son House, Dock Boggs, Bukka White, Flatt and Scruggs, Mississippi Fred McDowell and Robert Johnson, Joe also plays his own songs, which fit right in to his eclectic set.

DJ/vocal artist group Sallie Axl and The Inkdolls, one gorgeous pot of inimitable and innovative creativity, are set to stun on the Voodoo Stage on Saturday afternoon. As an amazing visual compliment to Sallie Axl's DJ sets, the Inkdolls provide a full on dance show with fire breathing, angle grinding and champagne spray thrown in.

Back by popular demand the awesome garage blues duo Henry's Funeral Shoe will star on the Voodoo Stage on Saturday. Mojo's Andy Fyfe proclaimed in his review of the band's latest album, 'Donkey Jacket', that "there's much to admire on Welsh brothers Aled and Brennig Clifford's second album…A mixture of White Stripes simplicity and crunching Black Keys boogie, the brothers distinguish themselves by entering at the ZZ Top end of the blues spectrum, and even Billy Gibbons might doff his sequined sombrero to Aled's berserker riffing."

Paul Ronney Angel, front man, songwriter and band leader of London's The Urban Voodoo Machine since 2003, will step up to the mike alone without his usual 11 piece band, armed only with an acoustic guitar, the devil's songbook, some blues harps and a kazoo on Sunday afternoon. Urban Voodoo Machine, whose dark and infectious music they call 'Bourbon Soaked Gypsy Blues Bop'N'Stroll', have toured the world and released 4 critically acclaimed and award winning albums since their inception.

The Pinup Stage will be playing host to the Miss Pinup UK, Miss Pinup International and Miss Tease & Cake competitions finals, as well as the newly created Hairy Rascal competition for the discerning gentleman.

Exotic international Canadian born burlesque performer Domino Barbeau, nominated for "Best Burlesque Act" at the London Cabaret Awards 2015, will be headlining the Pinup stage again this year. This mesmerizing femme fatale evokes all the glamour and spectacle of "Old Hollywood Exotica" - a time when visual intensity and a magical dream-like quality was brought to the silver screen. She conjures and recreates exotic imagery, inspired by far away lands, Old Hollywood epics and 60's fantasy film.

Alongside the Pinup Stage this year will be the Pinup Signing Booth, where you can meet stunning International Pinups and Special Guests including October DiVine, Anna Quinn, Mz Bones and many more. To view the full programme details for the weekend visit: http://pinupuk.com/timings/.

Ellis Cooper the gorgeous London based Lingerie/glamour model, will be introducing her 2016 calendar and merchandise exclusively at the 11th International London Tattoo Convention. From Playboy to Bizarre magazine she checks everyone's boxes; a definite hot spot and must meet this year.

Sabina Kelley an elegant and sensual statuesque platinum blonde pin-up girl with singular grace and style, has been chosen to star as fairy godmother of this year's convention. A hugely successful international star burlesque artist, originally from Las Vegas, she has featured on numerous TV shows and music videos, and her calendars have acquired massive cult status – and not just for lovers of tattoo art.

Raking Light Projects Exhibition – Tattoo Life Publisher and Raking Light Projects will present a curated collection of fine art prints by Jeroen Franken, Tim Hendricks, Robert Hernandez and Antonio 'Macko' Todisco. Raking Light Projects is a fine art publisher specializing in the sale of collectible prints created by skilled tattoo artists. Founded by veteran tattoo artist Eddy Deutsche and entrepreneur Andrew Fingerhut, Raking Light Projects aims to bridge the creative values of tattooing, traditional printmaking and fine art. Their mission is to showcase and share artwork created by a select group of working tattooers while increasing art appreciation and ownership. akinglightprojects.com.

The Bristol Tattoo Club Exhibition will display an amazing museum collection of artefacts dating back to the 1870's. The Bristol Tattoo Club was formed by Les Skuse in 1953 to bring together artists as well as tattoo fans to promote the good in tattooing and move the press away from printing negative views. Les was the first in the world to hold international conventions and artists came from far and wide to Bristol – Al Schilfly, Huck Spaulding, Milton Zeis, Tattoo Peter, Albert Cornelous, Ron Ackers, Jimmy Thompson and many more. After Les' death in 1973, his son Danny Skuse took over as President and ran the club low-key until 2009, when Jimmie Skuse, who has taken the club to its highest ever level and has also improved the tattoo museum, took over as president. www.bristoltattooclub.co.uk.

The Art of Chris Guest - Chris Guest began painting and drawing from a very young age, and first started making money from art aged just 14, drawing portraits of music icons for other pupils. At the age of 18, Chris began showing his work in galleries in Cornwall, and has since exhibited extensively throughout the UK. "For the last few years, my work has focused on painting heavily tattooed people, mainly from the London rock scene, to create paintings with a dirty rock n roll feel. I use very traditional techniques perhaps more akin to 18th century paintings, and source beautifully elaborate and highly decorative frames from English stately homes that are sometimes hundreds of years old. Using this traditional style of painting and method of display, coupled with such a contemporary subject matter of young characters from the London rock scene, I find this creates an interesting contradiction in my work." www.chrisguest.co.uk.

The Graffiti Life collective, a group of the UK's most well-known and respected street and multi-disciplined fine artists, graffiti writers and urban visionaries, will be back again this year, creating new works during the 11th London Tattoo Convention. Graffiti Life have originated huge commercial graffiti projects for the likes of Adidas, Disney XD, FA Cup – ITV, Kurt Geiger, Nike and many more. Drop by their wall as it evolves over the weekend, and pick up some tips, pointers or answers to any questions you may have about the graffiti art form. www.graffitilife.co.uk.

Crez - www.tattoolifebook.com/30-missing-heroes - To celebrate the presentation of the new book 30 MISSING HEROES, Crez will paint the 9 tattooed dragons on the body of one of the most charismatic characters in Suikoden: Kyumonryu Shishin. The live performance will last three days!

Xed Le Head - www.xedtattoo.com - Xed Le Head will present a series of psychedelic prints which explore shapes and colours seen through his unique perspective. Each image he creates is printed only once, making each one a unique edition: even though it is created digitally, it will be the only print ever made.

A unique gathering of the 'who's who' of the royalty of the tattoo world, the London Tattoo Convention has become THE coolest, best ever global gathering devoted to body art on the planet.

Every year, thousands of tattoo artists from all around the world apply to the Tattoo Life Publication organisers in the hope of being able to practise their art in public at this inimitable event. 2015 sees the bar being raised ever higher, with well over 400 of the finest, most talented, elite tattoo artists confirmed to converge on Tobacco Dock in the last weekend of September. Don Ed Hardy, a living legend on the international tattoo scene, has graciously accepted the invitation to exhibit his work for the first time in tattoo convention history. 'Multiple Hardy Marks' will showcase his multifaceted artistic career, which over many years has involved a tireless investigation of the most varied and original media - from engraving to ceramics, oil painting, acrylics and watercolours. The exhibition centres on a series of exquisite prints from the '90s as well as more recent original drawings and paintings. This is a truly unique opportunity to get a look up close at the work of a historic tattoo artist and see him from a new perspective. See him as an all-round artist who over the years has used every possible medium with constant nods to the iconography of tattoo to express his conception of life and art.

The Fuel Girls, the original and best fire-breathing tattooed acrobatic dance troupe in the world, will return to star as the resident performers on the Main Stage, alongside a diverse host of amazing burlesque, sword swallowing, striptease and trapeze performers. Over on the Voodoo Stage, a host of vital live bands, including Alabama 3 (Acoustic), Big Joe Bone, Henry's Funeral Shoe, Carousel Vertigo and Vince Ray & The Boneshakers are set to provide multiple musical distractions. Many more acts and attractions are set to be announced.

The finals of the Miss Pinup UK and Miss Pinup International will be held and judged over the three days of the convention, plus there will be a massive marketplace with a huge range of kit - which you definitely won't find in the UK's notoriously homogenous high streets - on offer.

Alongside the customary extensive range of food and drink available, we will have the unstoppable Brewdog Brewery with its wide range of uncompromising class craft beers, as well as a massive real ale and cider bar. The Hard Rock Cafe will also have its own Rock Bar at The International London Tattoo Convention 2015, where you can try Hard Rock Cocktails and purchase awesome merchandise; more news to follow!

The biggest show of all, however, will, as ever, be that proffered by the visitors themselves, who become the lead characters when they compete in the tattoo contests for different categories, such as Best Tribal, Best Backpiece, Best Black & Grey, Best Colours and Best of Show.

Advance tickets, priced at £20 for Friday, £30 for Saturday, £25 for Sunday or £60 for a weekend pass, are available to purchase via www.thelondontattooconvention.com. Admission for visitors under 14 is free, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
