Bittersweet melodies and chrome shiny metal riffs collide on Swiss goth rockers Stoneman’s fifth studio album, ‘Steine’, released on No Cut Entertainment via SPV, on September 23rd.
Formed in 2004, Stoneman soon built a sizeable live audience on the Swiss goth / metal underground scene, leading to prestige support slots with the likes of Soilwork and Within Temptation.
After the release of their debut album ‘Sex. Drugs. Murder’ in 2006, Stoneman set off on tour around Europe with Impaled Nazarene, just as the video for ‘Devil in a Gucci Dress’, taken from the album, was play-listed on such high profile TV stations as MTV and VIVA.
In September 2007, following their debut headline European tour, the band released their sophomore album, ‘How To Spell Heroin’, which was so well received that Stoneman were first invited to play on the main stage of 2008’s Wave Gothic Festival in Leipzig, then on to separate tours with Wednesday 13 and Xandria.
In the wake of much critical praise for their third album, ‘Human Hater’, unleashed in 2010, Stoneman signed a management contract with the massive German concert promoter ICS Festival Service, in 2011.
The band’s fourth album, ‘Goldmarie’, crashed in to the German Alternative charts at number 4 on release in 2014, winning Stoneman a plethora of front covers and poster inserts. Furthermore, Stoneman then became the first Swiss band to be awarded sponsorship by The Wacken Foundation, the charitable organisation dedicated to developing hard and heavy metal music.
In Spring 2015 Stoneman supported Mono Inc on their ‘Terlingua’ Tour of Europe, before landing a slot on the main stages of the Wacken Open Air, the Euro Rock in Belgium and many other festivals over the summer.
Now ‘Steine’, Stoneman’s superb fifth studio album, is all set to elevate the band ever higher into the heady heights of the Europe’s Goth Rock stratosphere.
