STONEWALL NOISE ORCHESTRA

***SWEDISH HARD ROCKERS’ STUPENDOUS NEW ‘THE MACHINE, THE DEVIL & THE DOPE’ STUDIO ALBUM UNLEASHED ON STEAMHAMMER / SPV ON MAY 20TH***

Swedish hard rockers Stonewall Noise Orchestra have signed to Steamhammer / SPV to release their utterly storming, filthy groove-laden fifth studio album ‘The Machine, The Devil & The Dope’ on May 20thas a Digipak CD, plus as a (limited edition of 500) red and black marbled vinyl LP (with printed inner sleeve plus CD), and download.

‘The Machine, The Devil & The Dope’, packed with truly epic, fuzzed out dual lead guitar riffs, crunchy, melody drenched rhythms, planet sized choruses and gravel tinged, soaring vocals, is an outstanding, subtly irresistible album which winds deeper and deeper into the consciousness with every repeat play.

Stonewall Noise Orchestra, who formed in 2004, forged their sledgehammer sound in their industrial city hometown Borlange, drawing on diverse strands from 40 years of rock and metal history to meld their own mesmerizing, modern stoned rock and roll sound.

‘The Machine, The Devil & The Dope’ was recorded and produced at leisure by Stonewall Noise Orchestra in their own fully fledged sound Studio 454 at their rehearsal room, where they put the new songs down without being pressed for time or money. Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge) then mixed and mastered the album at his Black Lounge Studio. The album cover artwork was notably designed by Per Wiberg (Opeth, Spiritual Beggars, Arch Enemy).

Guitarist Snicken, who founded SNO, states that “I have to admit that our new record is based on a – let’s call it healthy – dose of egotism; we composed the songs exclusively under the aspect of what we ourselves enjoy most live on stage. We wanted to make a straightforward heavy rock album and that’s what it is. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need to stay sane in a world that’s getting crazier by the day. It’s 40 minutes of rock therapy.”

Regarding the album’s title track, Snicken comments that “We’re particularly proud of that song because the simple arrangement consciously leaves space to breathe, yet the song sounds as if it was cast from one mould. That number proves that sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. Pretty much the same could be said for album opener ‘The Fever’, the anthemic ‘Into The Fire’ and ‘Stone Crazy’, with its 70’s boogie rhythm and Black Sabbath influenced riff, reflecting the band’s roots.

‘The Machine, The Devil & The Dope’, which reflects the infectious joy at the heart of this organic outfit, is a timeless, hard driving, hard grooving, unadulterated musical delight, which is all set to feature high in every discerning critic’s ‘Top Ten Rock Albums Of The Year’ list on the planet.
