'Mozaik, the
debut album from German Art Rock newcomers Frames, set for release on
March 29th on Steamhammer / SPV, is an unexpectedly exquisite musical
delight.
'Mozaik' is a captivating, completely instrumental
11 track album which effortlessly lures the listener in to a mesmerizing
journey through a beautiful other-worldly aural landscape from the moment
you hit 'play'.
Frames build every track into a unique musical mosaic,
intertwining gentle, swooping keyboards with fluid, meandering guitar
licks to create epic, sometimes heartbreaking, melancholic, soaring
soundscapes.
Frames are a young four piece completely instrumental
contemporary rock group comprising Jonas Meyer on guitars, Manuel Schonfeld
on keyboards, Julian Hoffman on bass and Kiryll Kulakowski on drums.
Frames have been forging their own individual musical
trail since forming in Hannover in 2007, deliberately not jumping on
any bandwagon and going whichever way their creative juices flowed.
Their debut demo, '124EP', was proclaimed 'Demo Of
The Month' in Rock Hard and numerous other prestigious German rock magazines
in Spring 2009. Frames subsequently found themselves in the national
finale of the much publicized 'Local Heroes' battle of the bands competition
last summer and garnered third place - an unprecedented feat for an
instrumental band.
Frames then inked a record deal at the end of 2009
with the Steamhammer / SPV label and went into the studio to record
'Mozaik', a truly consummate, debut album from this distinctive, extremely
talented quartet. |
