BLACKMORE’S NIGHT Guitar legend Ritchie Blackmore and his partner Candice Night’s band Blackmore’s Night, who Ritchie explains, play ‘renaissance rock with a lot of folk and balladesque influences,’ will perform tracks from their highly acclaimed new ‘The Village Lanterne’ album for the first time in the UK at the following shows:- June 10th Rothes Hall, Glenrothes
(£25.00) Ritchie and Candice formed Blackmore’s Night, an ensemble dedicated to blending rock, folk and 16th century melodies in homage to the music of the Renaissance era, a decade ago. Combining acoustic and electric guitars, strings and a variety of Renaissance era instruments with Candice Night’s enchanting voice, Blackmore's Night have since released five highly acclaimed studio albums, 'Shadow Of The Moon' (1997), 'Under A Violet Moon' (1999) and 'Fires At Midnight' (2001), ‘Ghost Of A Rose’ (2003), and ‘The Village Lanterne’ (2006). ‘The Village Lanterne’ contains 14 captivating medieval oriented music compositions, including ‘Mond Tanz / Child In Time’, a reinterpretation of Deep Purple’s massive hit ‘Child In Time’, a haunting new version of Rainbow’s classic ‘Street Of Dreams’, and a reworking of Ralph McTell’s ‘Streets Of London’. Blackmore’s Night, who perform in medieval costume, and encourage their audience to ‘dress in garb’, promise a fantastic evening of Candice Night’s gorgeous, haunting vocals, perfectly framed by classic Renaissance acoustic instrumentation and Ritchie Blackmore’s virtuoso guitar playing.
